Compugas, Inc., is a Nebraska corporation with headquarters at 4520
S. 36th St.; Omaha, NE; 68107. It is a wholly owned
subsidiary of GRH Electronics, Inc., originally incorporated in
1980. Compugas, Inc., serves as sales and installation agent for
GRH’s Compugas line of radio-based energy allocation products.
GRH Electronics, Inc. designed and patented the
Compugas energy allocation system in 1986 and, shortly after that,
petitioned Omaha’s customer-owned gas utility Metropolitan
Utilities District (MUD) to permit use of Compugas at MUD-served
master-metered apartment properties. Following numerous technical
discussions, equipment evaluations and rules definitions, in 1987,
the MUD Board approved five pilot projects utilizing Compugas
equipment in Omaha. Within two years, the MUD board provided
general approval for unrestricted Compugas use throughout its
service area. Currently, MUD refers customers to GRH
Electronics/Compugas for energy allocation services.
Kenneth Hoberman, president of GRH Electronics,
Inc, has served in this capacity since the corporation’s
inception. Mr. Hoberman is a 1970 graduate of the University of
Nebraska, Lincoln campus, having received a Bachelor of Science
degree in Electrical Engineering. He has completed postgraduate
studies in Chemistry, Engineering and Economics at Creighton and

Inc., Darcom, Inc.; and ABC Systems, Inc., all in the Omaha area. In
the Darcom and ABC positions he worked very closely with Omaha
Public Power District, Metropolitan Utilities District, and
Northwestern Bell as technology liaison for a U.S. Department of
Energy funded remote meter reading project. In 1989 Mr. Hoberman
participated with the National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM),
working at the National Bureau of Standards in Gaithersburg, MD, in
drafting guidelines for the US energy allocation industry. Also, in
1989, he was one of four founding members of the National Utilities
Allocation Association (NUAA). Over the interval from 1992 to 1994,
Mr. Hoberman sat as one of eight voting members on the American
Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)
Guideline Committee 8P, drafting engineering guidelines for the
national energy allocation industry. Mr. Hoberman has provided
expert testimony in hearings conducted in Virginia, Maryland, Iowa,
Indiana (in absentia), and New Jersey (in absentia) regarding energy
allocation systems and Compugas equipment. He currently manages the
corporate filings and association funds for the National Utilities
Allocation Association (NUAA).
GRH Electronics, Inc., has maintained continuous
membership in the Omaha Chamber of Commerce for the last 18 years.
Since 1989, GRH has been a charter member of the National
Utilities Allocation Association (NUAA), and in 2002, GRH became a

(NSUAA)…both trade associations dedicated to the uniformity and
fairness of utility cost allocation processes, equipment and
