CompugasRFTM
is a fully-automated, wireless energy
monitoring and billing system for master-metered apartments and
condominiums.
With over 20-years experience, Compugas is a nationally recognized
leader in the energy-allocation industry. Using a turnkey approach
that
includes
planning, financing, installation and service, Compugas processes
and prepares individual tenant invoices for thousands of apartments
monthly. CompugasRF is compatible with all building types that employ
thermostatically-controlled furnaces not having separate utility
gas
meters. The typical cost to convert from heat-paid rents to individually
monitored gas with CompugasRF is $250 per apartment.

Installation is
quick and easy with no wiring, no muss and no fuss. Efficient Compugas
installers locate a radio-based Energy Sentinel at each apartment
furnace. There are no wires running through the building or from building-to-building.
Every twenty minutes, each Energy Sentinel broadcasts accumulated
furnace usage to a central radio-receiving unit located out-of-sight
in the management office. Nightly, Compugas billing computers interrogate
the central radio unit via telephone. Once monthly, tenant bills are
prepared and mailed, and a management summary is forwarded to the
property.

In
the mid-1970’s, the wastefulness encouraged by master-metering
prompted most states to pass legislation requiring new apartments
to be built with individual gas meters. Without an incentive to conserve,
heat-paid renters waste 25% to 35% of their natural gas consumption.
Properties built before the new laws were enacted, having master
meters, must contend with the wastefulness, unpredictable gas prices
and weather
uncertainties which plague heat-paid rents. |

overnight, master-metered properties can compete with their newer
counterparts and maximize profit potential by shifting heat payment

Inovonics radio transmitter. These 916 MHz frequency-hopping, spread-spectrum
radio devices represent a time-proven standard with over 300,000 units
